Food Restaurant in Worthing kicked off the towns festive celebrations this year with some hugely popular and successful party nights in partnership with Splash FM. With over 200 people attending the nights on 5th and 12th December, Food Restaurant and Proto Restaurant Group made a brilliant, lasting impression.

With snow, mulled wine, egg nog and a three course traditional Christmas dinner, attendees were hard pushed to want more, but more is what they got! Santa arrived with gifts for all the good girls and Lizzie Haynes – winner of Worthing Idol 2011 – performed a selection of Christmas songs for everyone.

Both party nights were great successes, both individually and as a pair and plenty of local businesses and organisations attended including Santander and Worthing Hospital.

If you would like to book your very own special Christmas party at Food Restaurant, please call us on 01903 227780 or come in and visit us in New Street, Worthing, BN11 3BT.

Cath Lab Appeal Launch

Friday, June 17th, 2011

The Cath Lab Appeal for the ‘Love your Hospitals’ charity was launched at Food restaurant in spectacular fashion on Thursday 9th June.  The Love your Hospitals charity fund-raises for Worthing, Southland and St. Richard’s hospitals to help ensure that staff at all three hospitals can deliver the highest quality of healthcare we all need at some point in our lives.

Proto Restaurant Group owner Andy Sparsis and his wife are patrons of the charity, so it is very close to the hearts of all those that work for him, which is why Food restaurant was a perfect location for the launch of the Cath Lab Appeal.

The first major fund raising event for the appeal is a Superhero Fun Run and Walk along Worthing seafront on Sunday 4 September, 3pm at Worthing Lido. Keeping with that theme, a superhero/vigilante film was made at the launch. With crowds gathered outside Food restaurant, Andy Sparsis, dressed as Batman and arriving in the ORIGINAL car from the Batman films, saved a lady from being mugged.

Pictures of the event can be found at the ‘Love your Hospitals’ Facebook page where you can also ‘Like’ the page to receive news updates on the Cath Lab Appeal and all the other work the charity carries out.

Proto Restaurant Group encourages parties and events at all three of it’s restaurants, so why not give us a call today on 01903 227780 (Food), 01903 207123 (The Fish Factory, Worthing) or 01903 715000 (The Fish Factory, Littlehampton) to see how we can be the perfect venue for your event.

Proto Restaurant Group staff day out received a frosty reception

Friday, March 4th, 2011

On Thursday 3rd March, 20 Proto Restaurant Group staff members met for a day’s ice-skating on Worthing’s famous ice-skating rink as part of a team building exercise. Proto Restaurant Group works closely with the ice rink as it offers anybody who buys a ticket for the rink, a free kid’s meal at The Fish Factory, which has been extremely popular with families using the ice-rink, especially during half-term.

Worthing’s ice-rink is now in it’s third year running on Steyne Gardens and is open until the 6th March having been open since 5th February. Having been brought in as a one-off by Worthing Town Centre Initiative three years ago, it has proven so popular that it now returns every year. Not only is this a fantastic addition for the people of Worthing, but it is drawing people from neighbouring towns to Worthing, which is just great for local businesses.

Andy Sparsis – owner of  Proto Restaurant Group – had the following to say about the day at the ice-rink:

“I love getting our team out of the workplace and if I’m honest its about time some of them got there skates on! Thanks To Sharon Clark TCM for making this all possible.”

If you are planning on visiting the ice-rink this year, why not pop into The Fish Factory, Worthing to try one of their steak and kidney puddings? Home made pastry and massive chunks of lean steak is sure to warm you up after a cold day on the ice.

Call us on 01903 207123 to book a table in advance.
