NEW! Chateaubriand  steak

Also we are very excited to say that we have recently secured the best cuts of Chateaubriand steak with our butcher. Look out for our chateau brine steak with dauphinoise potatoes. This is an ideal dish for two people sharing!

For those of you who would like to know more about Chateaubriand steak, here you go …

The Chateaubriand steak is a recipe of a particular thick cut from tenderloin , which, according to Larousse Gastronomique, (encyclopedia of gastronomy), was created by personal chef, Montmireil, for Vicomte François-René de Chateaubriand, (1768–1848), the author and diplomat who served Napoleon as an ambassador and Louis XVIII as Secretary of State for two years.Chateaubriand is usually only offered as a serving for two, as there is only enough meat in the center of the average fillet for two portions.

Proto Restaurant Group sponsors Worthing Ice Rink

As you probably know, Proto Restaurant Group sponsored Worthing Ice Rink to the tune of £1000 and we are glad we did because it has been the best attraction that Worthing has had since Worthing Birdman – well apart from our Christmas and Greek parties at our Food restaurant, Worthing in West Sussex.

The launch of the ice rink happened to coincide with the launch of Talent Within You, a new organisation set up to help children with talent. The organisation finds these children, develops the talent with sponsorship from local businesses, and takes that talent to the next level.

The first child with talent was Jack Ford, a potential British Ice Dance Champion who has a high probability of making it to the 2014 Olympics. Talent Within You arranged for him to open the ice rink, and also invited Todd Carty along, as we all know he loves Dancing on Ice! Todd Carty is now Talent Within You’s first patron. The evening before the launch, the Talent Within You team and Todd Carty enjoyed Beef Wellington, Steak, and Roast Beef supper at Food Restaurant in Worthing, West Sussex.

Talent Within You is a charitable organisation, and needs another £4.5K to achieve full charity status. Talent Within You have already reached Gift Aid status. Gift Aid allows charities to reclaim the basic rate tax you have already paid on the money you donate. This means that donations can be worth an extra 28p for every £1 donated, at no extra cost to the donor. So if you know of a business or businesses who would like to partner up with Talent Within You they would be very happy to speak to you. Contact vicky@talentwithinyou.org or call 01903 824229.
