The Fish Factory Littlehampton was honoured to host on 15 April “These Boots Were Made 4 Walking” charity night.  On 24 April Chelsea Harman (BabyBuddy Children’s Charity) and Melanie Peters (The Best of Worthing)  will be setting off to walk over 40 hours in 5 days across the Great Wall of China raising money for Love Your Hospital Charity & BabyBuddy Children’s Charity.  Arriving in Beijing their trip will include trekking the remote and stunning Gubeikou section of the Great Wall.

The next part of their journey will take them from Jinshanling to Simatia and then onto the challenge of conquering the 1,000 steps that make up the Heavenly Ladder.  They will finally reach the Badaling section of the wall, to then finish by transferring to Juyongguan to complete their adventure, treking up to 7-8 hours per day!

What a fantastic night!  The evening kicked off at 7.30 pm with champagne and canapes on arrival, followed by a fish & chip supper and pudding.  To raise money for the trek These Boots Were Made 4 Walking, an auction and a raffle was held on the night compared by Ian Hart.  Due to the auction with some amazing prizes to bid for, as well as the raffle, over £4,500 was raised on the night for the Love Your Hospital charity and BabyBuddy Children’s charity.
